As many, many of you have noticed, the High Roller trike is completely sold out right now and we are taking pre-orders for our next build. How did this happen, and what’s happening next? I’m glad you asked!<\/p>\n

2017 was a huge year for us at High Roller USA. It literally started off with a bang with sales going through the roof in the first half of the year. And that was great news! Except that it meant our inventory was leaving the warehouse at a ridiculous rate.\u00a0 Suddenly, we were faced with the very strange situation of having to refuse large orders because we just didn’t have enough to ship.<\/p>\n

Immediately we contacted our previous manufacturer to get more on order.\u00a0 After almost 3 months of getting new quotes and negotiating with suppliers, we got the news that they were not going to be able to complete the build.\u00a0 And on top of that, the High Roller was then on national television on Steve Harvey’s Funderdome just as the last of the inventory went out on the truck.\u00a0 Gulp.\u00a0 Now what?<\/p>\n

Now what indeed.\u00a0 National exposure, massive demand, and no inventory.\u00a0 Time to panic<\/strong>.\u00a0 Or, time to knuckle down and work like hell.\u00a0 Quite suddenly not having a supplier forced us to find new a one.\u00a0 And fast.\u00a0 As luck would have it, we had recently bumped into not one but two manufacturers at a trade show and both were willing to give us quotes.\u00a0 Both established, reputable companies making high end products for the sports and cycling industry.\u00a0 The initial quotes looked good and so it was time to pull the trigger.<\/p>\n

We’ve updated all the 3D CAD models, refined all the part drawings, rewrote our assembly procedures, and made all the necessary tweaks to the design.<\/p>\n

And after a slew of emails and Skype calls, we decided it was time to meet in person.\u00a0 So just last month, we loaded the last High Roller into a suitcase as a production sample a bought an airline ticket across the ocean.\u00a0 We met with the owner of the company, the head of production, and VP of business development.\u00a0 It was a great meeting.\u00a0 They know exactly what we’re trying to achieve with the High Roller, and they are fully capable of the high level of quality we expect.<\/p>\n

So now what happens?<\/strong>\u00a0 We’ve got an agreement to build, they’ve got the drawings and specifications.\u00a0 We’re basically starting from scratch with a new manufacturer so we start procuring parts and making new tooling and molds.<\/p>\n

How long is this going to take?<\/strong>\u00a0 I know that everyone’s main concern (and mine too) is, when will we get our High Roller so we can start ripping some powerslides?\u00a0 We don’t have a final production schedule yet, but here is a rough outline of what’s going to take place:<\/p>\n
